Richard Dworsky and Friends - All In Due Time
It’s a stylistically diverse suite in which Richard, on piano, collaborates with many of his world class musical friends. There’s a delightful surprise at every turn, as Dworsky offers his unique take on Bluegrass, 1920s Hot Jazz, Classical, Rag, Blues, Celtic folk, and evocative ballads. Guest soloists include Nashville pickin' superstars Jerry Douglas (Dobro) and Stuart Duncan (fiddle); Harmonica wizard Howard Levy; Minnesota Orchestra’s principal cellist Anthony Ross, and trumpeter Charles Lazarus; traditional jazz legends Warren Vaché (cornet), Ken Peplowski (clarinet), and Andy Stein (violin); and Prairie Home fiddler/mandolinist Richard Kriehn. Dworsky’s tune "Goin’ to the Dance With You” has been previously recorded by the great Kristin Chenoweth, but here it’s sung by the wonderful Tony DeSare (Concord Jazz artist). The sweet lullaby “All the Joys“ is sung by Richard’s talented sister, Sally Dworsky (The Lion King, Prince of Egypt). The final song is Dworsky’s setting of the moving Emily Dickinson poem “If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain,' sung tenderly by Dworsky’s old friend and collaborator, Al Jarreau (multiple Grammy winning vocalist).
